Yann Salmon

Yann Salmon is born in 1964 in Accra Ghana. He has made his primary and secondary education in France. He finally graduated in 1994 as an architect at l'Ecole Speciale d'Architecture in Paris, a prestigious architectural school paired with the Architectural Association School of Architecture in London, under the mentorship of Paul Virilio.

He was then recommended to Jean NOUVEL (architecture Pritzker Price 2008) with whom he collaborated between 1996 and 2001. Yann was lead architect on the design of the 215m Dentsu tower in Tokyo.

In 1998 Yann was head hunted by the RICHARD ROGERS Partnership in London (architecture Pritzker Price 2007) where he was offered a position to work on the design of the new Heathrow airport in London - Terminal 5. He worked on this project for the next 3 years.

In 2001 Jean NOUVEL was composing a team to lead his first major building in the USA and offered the position to Yann to lead the design team - he asked Yann to move to the US and manage the full design team for the construction of the new Guthrie Theatre in Minneapolis, U.S.A..

Yann returned to the UK in 2003 and worked with the BUILDING DESIGN PARTNERSHIP (BDP) on various commercial projects.

In 2006 Yann created KYO BUILDING WORKSHOP ltd, a construction and renovation company, targeting the various residential projects in central London. With this company he has introduced sustainable technologies for small to medium size residential refurbishment or new built.

In 2008 Yann gets to know Joachim Wolf. Finding out, to have mutual interests and business ethics, they work together on various projects since.

Today Yann lives in London with his family and has a 2 years old daughter.
